Political Cooperation
The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Cambodia were established on January 25, 1995.
The political interaction between the countries continues developing in the interests of both sides.
Visits of high-level delegations are carried out.
In April 2014, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen paid an official visit to Belarus.
The interparliamentary ties are established.
In June 2012, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia Heng Samrin visited Belarus.
Cooperation between the foreign policy agencies is underway.
In March 2014, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Vladimir Makei paid a visit to Cambodia.
The mechanism of political consultations is in place. In June 2017, Minsk hosted the first round of Belarusian-Cambodian inter-ministerial consultations at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers.
There is constructive cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
The international legal framework is in the process of formation. It includes 16 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.
The interests of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Cambodia are represented by the Embassy of Belarus in Hanoi, while the interests of Cambodia in Belarus are represented by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Moscow.
By Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of July 7, 2022, Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Ambassador-designate presented his credentials to the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia Sey Chhum on September 15, 2022.
The Honorary Consulate of Belarus has been operating in Phnom Penh since 2013. Mr. Huot Sovann is the Honorary Consul.
