Political Cooperation

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Cambodia were established on January 25, 1995.

On September 15, 2022, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou presented his credentials to the Chairman of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia Say Chhum. In 2013, Mr. Huot Sovann was appointed to the post of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Cambodia.

In June, 2012 the visit of H.E. Mr. Heng Samrin, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Cambodia, took place to the Republic of Belarus.

In March, 2014 H.E. Mr. Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

In April, 2014 the official visit of H.E. Mr. Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to Belarus took place.

There is a mechanism of political consultations. In June 2017, the 1st round of Belarusian-Cambodian inter-MFA consultations at the level of the deputy ministers was held in Minsk.

Bilateral inter-parliamentary ties are developing. An efficient cooperation within the framework of international organizations is being carried out, mainly for elective and human rights issues.

16 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements have been concluded.
