Political Cooperation

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Thailand were established on June 21, 1992.

On August 1, 2022 Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou was appointed to the post of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Thailand. In August 2016, Ms. Koranun Sukonritikorn was appointed to the post of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Thailand.

On June 21, 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus Uladzimir Baravikou presented the credentials to the King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X).

In April, 2012 the first round of political consultations between foreign ministries at the level of deputy foreign ministers took place.

In March, 2016 H.E. Mr. Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand.

In June 2016 H.E. Mr. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the National Legislative Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a return visit to the Republic of Belarus.

The National Assembly of Belarus has formed a working group for cooperation with the Parliament of Thailand.

The legal framework of bilateral relations includes 7 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements.

On October 15-18, 2022, the performances of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus took place on the stage of the Thai Cultural Center in Bangkok.

On October 16, 2022, in the park of Bangkok «Vachirabenchatat», a solemn ceremony of planting the «Tree of Friendship» was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Thailand.
