Political Cooperation

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of Thailand were established on July 21, 1992.

Political interaction between the countries continues to develop in the interests of both sides.

Visits by heads of state and government not taken place yet.

The Parliaments have established ties.

In March 2016, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko paid an official visit to Thailand.

In June 2016, Chairman of the National Assembly of Thailand Pornpetch Wichitcholchai paid a return visit to Belarus.

The National Assembly of Belarus formed a working group on cooperation with the Parliament of Thailand.

The Foreign Ministries have established interaction.

The first round of political consultations at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers took place in April 2012. The second round of consultations was held on 17 July 2024 in Minsk.

The legal framework of the bilateral relations is in the process of formation. It includes 7 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.

The interests of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Thailand are represented by the Embassy of Belarus in Hanoi. The interests of the Thailand are represented by the Embassy of Thailand in Moscow.

By Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of August 1, 2022, Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Thailand. The Ambassador-designate presented his credentials to King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand on June 21, 2023.

The Honorary Consulate of Belarus has been operating in Bangkok since August 2016. Ms. Koranun Sukonritikorn is the Honorary Consul of Belarus.

Since June 2016, the Honorary Consulate of Thailand has been operating in Minsk. Mr. Ivan Chura is the Honorary Consul of Thailand.
