About the Official Visit of Belarusian Prime Minister R.A. Golovchenko to Vietnam

On 6-9 December, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus R.A. Golovchenko paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus met with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh. Belarus held talks with President of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong. With a view to promoting the development of interregional cooperation, there were meetings with Tran Chi Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi and the leadership of Hung Yen Province.

The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen and expand comprehensive cooperation with the Vietnamese party by signing bilateral agreements in various areas.

During the conversation with Prime Minister F.M. Chinh, a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Vietnamese relations were discussed. A high level of mutual understanding and positive dynamics of co-operation in all areas were noted. It was stressed that the agreements signed during the visit would become an essential milestone in the Belarusian-Vietnamese co-operation.

All the talks were held in a trusting, constructive and friendly atmosphere. R.A. Golovchenko invited the Prime Minister of Vietnam to pay an official visit to the Republic of Belarus. The invitation was gratefully accepted.
