On participation in the Day of remembrance and sorrow

On June 22, 2024, the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and Genocide of the Belarusian People, Ambassador of Belarus Uladzimir Baravikou and the staff of the diplomatic mission together with the head and diplomats of the Embassy of Russia, representatives of Vietnamese organizations honored the memory of millions of Soviet citizens who died during the Great Patriotic War.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Belarus noted the importance of June 22 for all Belarusians, whose genetic code contains the memory of the war and its categorical rejection. He recalled the heroic feat of the defenders of the Brest Fortress, the devotion of the Belarusian partisans and underground fighters, the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices in Khatyn and other villages, burned with the inhabitants. Uladzimir Baravikou emphasized the importance of preserving the historical memory and preventing distortion of the truth about the war so that this tragedy would never happen again.

Russian Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko and Director of the Russian House of Science and Culture in Hanoi Vladimir Murashkin spoke at the event.

The participants of the ceremony laid flowers in honor of all military and civilians who died for freedom and independence of the Motherland, and paid tribute with a minute of silence.
