Participation of Ambassador of Belarus, U.Baravikou, in the Second Inter-Parliamentary Conference of Speakers

On August 26–28, 2026, the Second Inter-Parliamentary Conference of Speakers of Parliaments took place in Phnom Penh (Kingdom of Cambodia) under the theme “Solidarity for Peace and Shared Prosperity: Strengthening International Law and Resolving Conflicts Peacefully.”

The Republic of Belarus was represented at the inter-parliamentary forum by Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus.

On the opening day of the conference, the Ambassador of Belarus, together with the heads of foreign delegations participating in the inter-parliamentary forum, was received by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia.

In his address at the conference, the Belarusian Ambassador highlighted the importance of consolidating efforts to build a just, multipolar world order, ensure compliance with international law, and resolve interstate disputes exclusively through peaceful dialogue.

The forum participants' attention was drawn to the need to eliminate the practice of imposing illegal unilateral coercive measures on countries. Emphasis was placed on the peace-loving policy of the Republic of Belarus as a contributor to peace, stability, and security in Europe.

The Belarusian Side supported the adoption of the Phnom Penh Declaration, the core principles of which are fully aligned with the initiatives of the Republic of Belarus at the UN.

At the conclusion of the conference, the Ambassador of Belarus, together with other heads of foreign delegations, took part in a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Hun Manet.

On the sidelines of the event, the Belarusian Ambassador held brief meetings with the President of the Senate of Cambodia, Hun Sen, the Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Conference of Speakers, Ek Nath Dhakal; and the heads of several foreign parliamentary delegations. Discussions focused on intensifying parliamentary cooperation and supporting international peace initiatives.
