On mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports

The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports (hereinafter – the Agreement) enters into force on 15 January 2026.

In accordance with Article 1 of the Agreement, nationals of Belarus and Laos having valid ordinary passports, with at least 180 (one hundred and eighty) days of validity, shall enter, stay, leave and transit the territory of one of the States in a visa-free regime, provided that the duration of their stay does not exceed 30 (thirty) days, counted from the date of entry. The total period of stay within the territory of the State of the other Party must not exceed 90 (ninety) days within a calendar year.

Nationals of the State of one Party, who intend to stay on the territory of the State of the other Party more than 30 (thirty) days, regardless of the purpose of the trip, must obtain an appropriate visa in advance.

Entry and exit from the Republic of Belarus is carried out through international checkpoints at the State Border of the Republic of Belarus using valid travel documents.
