On the participation of Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou in the visit of Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus to Myanmar
11.04.2026On April 9-10, 2026, Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (concurrently), took part in the events of the visit of Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Sergeyenko to Myanmar.
The Belarusian delegation participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Min Aung Hlaing.
During a meeting, Igor Sergeyenko conveyed sincere congratulations to Min Aung Hlaing on his inauguration from the President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko. The parties discussed a wide range of mutually beneficial cooperation issues. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level in 2025.
Prospects for developing interparliamentary contacts, with a focus on the implementation of trade, economic, and socially significant bilateral projects, were discussed with Khin Yi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Assembly of Union of Myanmar and leader of the leading Union Solidarity and Development Party. The importance of developing a legal framework was emphasized.
During talks with Minister of Defence of Myanmar Tun Aung, the two sides engaged in a substantive exchange of views on the current state and prospects of cooperation in the military sphere. Plans for joint cooperation were outlined.
During the visit, members of the Belarusian delegation paid tribute at the Memorial to Fallen Heroes in Nay Pyi Taw.
