On a working visit of Ambassador of Belarus U.Baravikou to Thailand

On September 9-10, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam and Thailand (concurrently) Uladzimir Baravikou paid a working visit to Bangkok.

At the meeting with the President of the Senate of the National Assembly, Mongkol Surasajja, the current state and future prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed, and plans for joint activities in the near future were outlined, including proposals to intensify the work of parliamentary friendship groups.

During talks with the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Somrudee Poopornanake, the sides discussed priority issues on the bilateral agenda, outlined plans to develop the legal and treaty framework focusing on trade and economic fields, and discussed the prospects for further liberalisation of travel conditions for citizens.

Issues relating to cultural cooperation between the two countries were discussed with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture (with the rank of Deputy Minister), Prasop Riangngoen. Mutual interest in intensifying cultural exchanges was reaffirmed, and a number of joint initiatives were set out for implementation.

A wide range of issues relating to cooperation in relevant sectors was discussed with the Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Seksun Ngawsuwan, as well as the prospects for growth in mutual tourist flows following the launch on 25 October 2026 of a direct scheduled flight by Belavia on the Minsk–Bangkok–Minsk route.
