On the participation of Ambassador of Belarus U.Baravikou in the events dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country
30.04.2025On April 30, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Uladzimir Baravikou attended the ceremonial events dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
The beginning of the festivities was marked by 21 artillery salvos. A parade was held in the city center with the participation of 13 thousand people from among the military personnel of the People's Army of Vietnam, public and youth organizations. A parade of the Vietnamese Air Force was organized above the city. With the participation of the country's leadership, Ho Chi Minh City was awarded the honorary title of Hero of Labor in a solemn atmosphere.
In his welcoming speech to the thousands of spectators, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam expressed gratitude to “international friends for their enormous, valuable, loyal and constant support and assistance to the cause of national liberation and reunification of the Vietnamese people.” “The victory in the resistance against the United States for the sake of saving the country was the result of… the great, just, sincere and effective support and assistance of the Soviet Union and fraternal socialist countries.”
