On the participation of Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou in the press conference

On 17 June 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou attended a press conference organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for local and foreign mass media, as well as heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Hanoi.

The event announced the decision of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to amend and supplement the country's Constitution and the Law on Local Self-Government to introduce a new model of two-tier local governance from 1 July 2025.

The leaders of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Law and Justice Committee of the National Assembly of Viet Nam stressed in their speeches and in response to questions that the implementation of the new self-government model, along with the ongoing streamlining of the State apparatus and territorial-administrative reform, would improve governance efficiency, create more opportunities for economic development, closer regional ties, and optimise costs.
