A collection of works by Yanka Kupala in Vietnamese presented in Hanoi

On November 2, 2025, a presentation of the first Vietnamese-language collection of works by Belarusian national poet Yanka Kupala was held on the Book Street in Hanoi.

The project implemented in collaboration with the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum and the Vietnamese publishing house Finance, is timed to the 100th anniversary of awarding the Belarusian literary classic the title of People's Poet of Belarus. The premiere of the publication took place on the day of the adoption of the USSR Law “On the inclusion of Western Belarus into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics with its reunification with the Belarusian SSR.”

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus U. Baravikou drew the attention of numerous guests from among representatives of Vietnamese government and local government bodies, academic circles, and the diplomatic corps to the worldwide fame of the Belarusian classic's legacy and the relevance of the themes reflected in his work to local readers, and emphasized the uniqueness of the collection.

The heads of the diplomatic missions of Belarus, Palestine, and Russia, as well as diplomats from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, jointly recited Yanka Kupala's work “A kto tam idze” in their native languages.

As part of the event, the Belarusian Ambassador ceremoniously presented 30 copies of the book to the National Library of Vietnam.

The event was widely covered in the Vietnamese media.
