Celebration of the Independence Day of Belarus

On 26 June 2025, the Embassy together with the Office of the Defence Attaché held a reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus – Day of the Republic.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou welcomed the guests.

His address focused on further strengthening of the relations between Belarus and Vietnam, which have reached the level of strategic partnership facilitated by the significant progress achieved by the two countries in their socio-economic development. Emphasised was the importance of expanding participation and interaction in international platforms, primarily the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS and ASEAN, as well as stimulating the trade turnover in the framework of the free trade zone between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam.

Taking into account a number of significant anniversaries in 2025, including the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, the 50th anniversary of liberation of the South of Vietnam and reunification of the country, the 80th anniversary of independence of the Vietnamese state, stressed was the importance of preserving the historical memory and truth about the events of the past years as a common heritage and the basis for further development of friendly relations between Belarus and Vietnam.

The event was attended by the leadership of Vietnam's government and self-government bodies, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Hanoi, representatives of the business community and public organisations.

As part of the reception, a BelTA photo exhibition ‘80 Years of Victory’ was unfolded.
