On the Working Visit of Ambassador U.Baravikou to Laos
26.09.2025On September 24-25, 2025, Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (concurrently), paid a working visit to Vientiane.
Uladzimir Baravikou attended the 4th meeting of the Belarusian-Lao Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation. A wide range of trade and economic cooperation issues and prospects for expanding them, including through the implementation of cooperation projects, were discussed.
Ambassador also participated in the meetings of members of the Belarusian delegation at relevant Lao government agencies.
During negotiations between First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Maithong Thammavongsa, a substantive discussion took place on the further development of political cooperation, including on the schedule of upcoming bilateral events.
Co-Chair of the Belarusian-Lao Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation and Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Siarhei Staliarchuk and Deputy Minister of Public Security of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Soulina Keopaseouth expressed interest in intensifying cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
Current issues of monetary cooperation between the two countries were the focus of a meeting with Deputy Governor of the Bank of Laos, Vathana Dalaloy.
On September 24, the Embassy, together with the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Laos, organized a contact and cooperation exchange with leading enterprises from both countries. Belarus' export potential was presented. Direct negotiations have been organized on the supply of Belarusian automotive, agricultural, pharmaceutical and other products.
