On the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar
28.11.2025On 27–28 November 2025, President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko paid an official visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
At Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Aleksandr Lukashenko was greeted by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov, Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam and Myanmar (concurrently) Uladzimir Baravikou. On the Myanmar side, the head of the Belarusian state was welcomed by Prime Minister Nyo Saw and other officials.
On 28 November 2025, in Nay Pyi Taw, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a meeting with Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Min Aung Hlaing.
The talks were preceded by a solemn meeting attended by a guard of honour, as well as the performance of the national anthems of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. After a joint photo session, Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the guest book at the Presidential Palace.
During the one-on-one talks Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the current visit is receiving significant attention in Myanmar. He assured that the Belarusian side will certainly live up to this trust.

As the Belarusian leader emphasised, although a significant geographical distance separates the countries, it is not an obstacle to developing relations.
During the extended talks promising areas for bilateral cooperation and joint projects were discussed, including the development of cooperation in agriculture and food security, industry, and pharmaceuticals. An assessment has been made of the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the high-level talks in Minsk in March and June of this year.
A joint action plan has been defined and a Roadmap for the Development of Cooperation between the two countries for 2026-2028 has been approved.

Following the talks, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Min Aung Hlaing made a statement to the media.
At the National Botanical Garden in Nay Pyi Taw, on the occasion of the first visit by the Belarusian head of state to Myanmar in the history of bilateral relations, the leaders of the two countries planted a Kanko tree, a flowering tree symbolising good luck and prosperity.
At the Maravijaya Buddha temple complex, the Belarusian head of state left an entry in the guest book.
