On the Celebration of Belarusian Independence Day

25.06.2026

Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou, together with Defense Attaché Vadzim Raichonak, hosted a reception to mark the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus – Republic Day, which is celebrated on July 3.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador noted a significant intensification of Belarusian-Vietnamese relations during this new phase of the strategic partnership established in May 2025. He emphasized that the time-tested, sincere friendship and mutual benefit continue to define the scope of cooperation between the two countries, contributing to their successful socio-economic development.

The Ambassador especially noted the dynamic growth of “people-to-people diplomacy,” which was driven in part by the launch of direct flights between the two countries. During the Year of the Belarusian Woman, cooperation between women’s organizations intensified significantly, and a number of large-scale cultural events were successfully held, including the first Belarusian Film Days in Vietnam.

“A friend in need is a friend indeed.” In June 2026, following a decision by President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko, a shipment of humanitarian aid was delivered to the port of Da Nang to help address the aftermath of the massive floods that struck central Vietnam in November 2025.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening regional and global security. In this regard, he invited all interested parties to participate in the negotiation process on the Eurasian Charter on Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century, which is scheduled to be “launched” at the United Nations headquarters in New York in September 2026.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Le Thi Thu Hang, delivered a congratulatory speech in response, noting with satisfaction the active development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries during this new phase of their strategic partnership.

The event was attended by leaders of Vietnam’s government and local government bodies, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Hanoi, representatives of the business community, civil society organizations, and the media.

The BelTA photo exhibition “Woman. War. Victory,” set up on the sidelines, drew considerable interest from the guests.
