On the participation of Ambassador U.Baravikou in the celebrations in Vientiane
02.12.2025On December 2, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam and Laos (concurrently) Uladzimir Baravikou, at the invitation of the country's leadership, took part in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
The Ambassador of Belarus attended a solemn parade in the central square of Vientiane, where the country's independence was proclaimed 50 years ago. In his speech, the Secretary General of the People's Revolutionary Party, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, paid tribute to all those who fought for the independence of their homeland, expressed deep gratitude to the international alliance and specific countries for their assistance in the struggle and the construction of an independent state, and confirmed the ambitious tasks facing the country and the determination of the people to achieve them.
Several thousand people took part in the large-scale event, including veterans of the revolutionary movement. Armed forces and law enforcement personnel, government and administrative officials, and representatives of public organisations marched in a solemn procession.
Later the same day, a state reception was held at the National Convention Centre in honour of the anniversary, attended by the country's top leadership, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the general staff, and distinguished international guests.
