On the screening of the Belarusian film “On the Other Shore”

On November 17, 2023, a joint Belarusian-Russian event was held in Hanoi, dedicated to the Day of National Unity of the Republic of Belarus, the Day of National Unity of the Russian Federation and the Day of the October Revolution.

For representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Hanoi, ministries and departments, academic, scientific, public and business circles of Vietnam, a screening of the feature film produced by Belarusfilm “On the Other Shore” (with subtitles in Vietnamese) was organized at the Russian Center for Science and Culture created by the Embassy of Belarus for this occasion).

In his speech, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou noted that National Unity Day symbolizes an act of historical justice towards the Belarusian people, divided against their will in 1921 under the terms of the Riga Peace Treaty, and is forever entrenched in the national historical tradition.

Separately, he noticed that in the calendar of holidays of our country, along with the National Day of the Republic of Belarus — Republic Day, celebrated on July 3 and the Day of National Unity, the Day of the October Revolution occupies an important place.

It is traditional to open socially significant objects on this day in Belarus. The country's leadership takes part in the opening of such facilities throughout the republic.
