Сelebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus

On June 28, 2024, the Embassy of Belarus with the Office of the Defense Attaché held a reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus — Day of the Republic, the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.

Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, welcomed the guests. In his statement he focused on the importance of preserving the historical memory and truth about the Great Patriotic War, the fight of Belarusians and the whole Soviet people against fascism, the high price paid for the victory. Attention was drawn to the relevance of the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko, to promote a dialog in the spirit of San Francisco at the regional and global levels in order to prevent military conflicts and create an indivisible security system. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of continuing the active dynamics of Belarus-Vietnam cooperation on a wide range of issues on the basis of traditional friendship, trust and mutual understanding.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Thanh Binh made a congratulatory speech, noting with satisfaction the development of multifaceted relations between Belarus and Vietnam.

Present at the event were high-ranking representatives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, state and local government bodies, heads and staff of diplomatic missions accredited in Hanoi, and business representatives.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, the guests were presented the photo exhibition “Belarus Invincible”.

The project was created with the support of the Ministry of Information and the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

The exposition “Belarus Invincible” presents photo collages of the famous Belarusian historian Vladimir Likhodedov showing views of Minsk and other Belarusian cities of the pre-war period, images of the same neighborhoods after the war and the modern look of the restored, peaceful Belarus.
