On the Embassy’s participation in an event in Laos marking the 30th anniversary of the Day of Unity between the Peoples of Belarus and Russia
16.10.2026On October 16, 2026, a representative of the Embassy of Belarus in Vietnam took part in a festive event in Vientiane, the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia.
Numerous guests, including representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, government and administrative bodies, the diplomatic corps accredited in Vientiane, and activists of the Lao-Belarusian and Lao-Russian friendship societies participated in the event. The photo exhibition 'Russia and Belarus Through the Centuries: Monuments of History and Culture,' which reflects the richness of Belarusian history, architecture and culture was presented.
In a welcoming address delivered on his behalf, Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Laos (concurrently), noted the historical choice made by the Belarusian people three decades ago in favor of integration, alliance, and strategic partnership with Russia. He emphasized the peace-loving character of the foreign policy and the readiness of the Belarusian state for dialogue, friendship, and equitable cooperation, including with countries as geographically distant yet spiritually close as Laos.
The event was organized with the assistance of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Vientiane.
