On the visit by a delegation from the Brest Region to Lao Cai Province

On September 15, 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Uladzimir Baravikou, took part in the activities of a delegation led by Mikhail Batsenko, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, in Lao Cai Province (Vietnam).

At the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province, Giang Quoc Hung, particular attention was paid to strengthening inter-regional ties, primarily in the areas of trade, economy and investment. Both sides emphasised their mutual interest in stepping up cooperation in implementation of the Programme of Cooperation between the two regions for 2026–2028.

During the talks, which were attended by heads of relevant departments, administrations of economic zones, business associations and educational institutions, the prospects for expanding cooperation in the industrial, trade and education sectors, as well as in the field of agricultural processing, were also discussed.

As part of the visit, Agreement on Сooperation was signed between the Administration of the ‘Brest’ Free Economic Zone and the Department of Economic Zones of Lao Cai Province.
